Murar Engineering and Design was brought in to tackle the structural engineering for a weight room addition to an existing YMCA, which was once a high school. The new addition mirrors the original construction, using concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls and open web steel joists, with steel channels attached to openings in the existing structure.
