Murar Engineering and Design tapped into its industrial roots to help Big Island Carbon turn the abundant macadamia nut shells of the island into high-quality, medical-grade carbon. Our team took the lead on designing the foundation and strategically placing equipment using a local grid system to ensure optimal functionality. The project also involved a mass study to minimize vibrations from the spinning turbine, while carefully designing pipe supports and the office building for the site.
Additionally, the facility was equipped to process Eucalyptus products at one point, showcasing the versatility of the operation. We’re proud to have played a key role in bringing this innovative project to life on the Big Island.
